Small, no frills diner with quality food. There's not a whole lot to look at here. It's a quaint neighborhood joint. There's not much of anything around the restaurant either so it seems kind of off the beaten path. Their lot parking is gravelly. When you walk in, since there's usually just one waitress and the cook working, you might not be greeted right away. Just take a seat. They do have a TV so you can watch that while you wait. I've always just come here for breakfast. The Kelly Erin which is the corned beef hash dish is delish! Every time I've eaten here, it seems to me like the cook does take pride in his work and my plates come out looking nice and neat which is the main reason why I keep coming back. The food here also seems less greasy than other breakfast joints. Waitresses do seem a little rough around the edges but it's fine. Like the last time I went, our waitress somewhat contested whether my friend had said she wanted hashbrowns or not. She did and I heard it too but I guess the waitress didn't. She did make sure that our coffee cups were refilled which is always a big plus. Overall, this is an excellent option for breakfast without the line you might find at IHOP on a Sunday morning.

Once again my sister called me about Emerson's. It was on St. Patrick's Day and she had stopped in and had their corned beef and cabbage special. She said it was fantastic. The call came about 2:30 and since they close at 3 I thought I was out of luck. Surprise! for St. Patty's Day they were open til 9. Hopped into my car and hurried on over. The best corned beef and cabbage I have ever had at a restaurant. The corned beef was tender and flavorful. Boiled potato done just right and the cabbage was not cooked to mush. To top it off the meal came with a piece of soda bread. Wish they were open for dinner every night.

Amazing food! The waitress was so nice and the chef is an awesome cook. My chicken wrap was grilled to perfection. My dads club sandwhich was perfect too. The chef even made him special seasoned fries. We will for sure be coming back here.

Ugh, this is the first time I've felt like yelp reviews have done me wrong. To start: this place is in serious need of a remodel, it past outdated 5-10 years ago and is now just gross. It looks uncleanly inside and out. The window next to where we sat had napkins stuffed into the frame - I would assume to keep the cold air out? The entire time we ate - they had a TV on in the corner that was loud as can be - and what did they have on it? A infomercial. CMON guys. Secondly: the coffee cup my girlfriend received had some other woman's lipstick on it. Gross. The one I received was just stained and nasty. Food wise: it was just alright. But generic. Nothing special about this place. Lastly: I know that yoga pants are the hot new thing - but does my waitress at a restaurant really need to be THAT comfortable? It's just lazy and unprofessional.

Thanks Yelpers! Our usual place wasn't open for us early birds this morning so we ventured on and chose to try somewhere new. So glad we did! Good service and solid breakfast. I had a broccoli and mushroom omelette and toast. Fresh veggies and the bread was fantastic! Hubs had the Erin Kelly + side of bacon. He didn't talk, so that explains that. Thanks Emerson's! We may just have a new usual!

Gettin the Black & Bleu burger today (Cajun style). They were out of Jambalaya (pout!) The burger was excellent!! I enjoyed it immensely. Ashley was my server - she must have taken happy pills this morning, because she was all smiles today. In a small building, set back from the road, if you don't know it's a restaurant, you'll drive right on by. But then you'd be missing out on some good eatin served up by an excellent staff.

I drive by this place all the time not realizing what a great hidden gem Mt. Clemens has. I came here with my mom and her friends and I think all of us would say that we would be back for more. Very small diner with very friendly staff. I was very excited to see so many 5 star reviews from fellow yelpers. Everyone ordered breakfast (I ordered the veggie omelet that was full of delicious veggies and the hash browns were actually crispy) while our friend went with the black bean soup. Black bean soup was good and spicy and you get a hearty portion. We ordered a side of bacon with our meal (breakfast with no bacon...is not breakfast) but our waitress forgot it. When we told her while cashing out she felt so bad. No big deal to us, but her genuine concern was a great sign of customer service. The only thing I did not like was their special board. I like how you offer daily specials but please add descriptions to your dishes. There was a dish called 'tumbleweed' and a Texas burger which I had no idea what was on it or what a tumbleweed dish was. I could have asked the waitress but it's a bit more convenient if you added descriptions of your dishes on the board. I am very very excited to come here for St. Patricks day for their corn beef and cabbage special. So many great reviews of it.

Excellent salads and lunch specials. Black bean steak chili was near chili perfection.

I have returned here several times since my first review and update, and all I can say is that they really don't deserve 5 stars, so I'm going to revoke that status. Yes, that corned beef on 3/17/14 still lives on in my memory, but... When we invited some friends to join us here for breakfast a few months ago, the service was beyond slow. When our food finally arrived, my blueberry pancakes had nary a berry in them, though the server had written the order properly. Sad. We tried the Cinco de Mayo special meal last year, and while I'm late reporting this, the dinner I ordered (on the server's suggestion) had very tough, barely edible meat. It was a major disappointment after my St. Patrick's Day nirvana. On my last visit, I ordered bacon with my eggs, and though I specified crispy, the bacon was not. I also like bacon that isn't cut paper thin. It seems they give you a lot of bacon, but it isn't the good stuff. The other disappointment has been that there has been no effort to upgrade the interior. It is really cold here in the winter, especially by the entry. While the place seems clean, it gives off such an old and tired vibe. I realize it takes money to operate a restaurant, but this feels like it must be barely holding on. One last area that needs improvement is service. It seems pretty slow most of the times we have visited, and that should be addressed. Sorry, Emerson's, but I've found a couple of other local joints with better breakfast food that make me feel more welcome and valued. If you are still around next March, I will return in hopes of more of that memorable meal.

I have been here 4 times in one month and have to resist the urge to come more often. It is an unassuming building tucked back a little from the road. The parking lot is full of potholes and falling apart but don't let that concern you. They make great sandwiches on the grill and make the best bacon around. It is the kind of sandwich that you want to savor every bite, even the last one. They have 6 two person booths, 5 four person and 5 seats at the bar. Service is quick and plesant. I get the grilled chicken bacon and swiss. Nom nom noms. They also do deserts!

I can't complain! The food was excellent. We even got orders of breakfast and lunch to try both and they both passed with flying colors! Just wish it had a/c and looked a little more inviting on the outside, but overall, it's the food quality and taste that really matters. I'll be coming here again.

Twice now, I have had a breakfast worthy of song and fable in this little hidden treasure of a restaurant, nestled a bit back from the north side of Elizabeth Road, between North Avenue and Groesbeck Highway (M-97). Chef Reggie knows exactly how to craft a perfect breakfast, because he is careful with details... just as any artist would be. He knows what eggs, over-medium means and what makes corned beef hash go perfectly with the rest of the dish. It is evident that he loves what he does and that love finds its way into the meals. The people who work here are as cheerfully friendly as Chef Reggie himself. The warm family atmosphere is as helpful to the digestion as the delicious fare they serve up. Plus, who has a breakfast menu item which includes Andouille sausage... not to mention other items like the J.L. Hudson Maurice Salad and Jambalaya? They are currently set up for breakfast and lunch hours. If you wanna know more, stop on in and try them out... your tastebuds will thank you!

I officially cannot keep this GREAT spot a secret any longer!! Like the Tasmanian Devil, Altoids, and the Trinidad Scorpion Moruga pepper, Emerson's on the Grill is tiny but packs a hell of a punch!! Mini-sized and set back off Elizabeth, you'll almost miss it. Do yourself a favor though-stop and and check it out! I love that it's a family owned and operated place and want to support this. I believe some of the servers are Mr. Emerson's daughters, but everyone there couldn't be any nicer or more attentive. When I stopped in for the first time expecting a run-o'-the-mill greasy spoon, I was thrilled at the gem-packed menu. Sure, they've got classic fare covered, but this chef's prowess easily stretches outside the fryer. This friendly fellow (Mr. Emerson, I presume), whips up all kinds of delicious dishes with ease and a smile. And believe you me we polish off his creations with the same jovial spirit! To name a few: Honey mustard chicken and J.L. Hudson Maurice salads, HUGE and very reasonably priced breakfasts, tasty jambalaya, omelets, salads, delicious sandwiches and more. Their specials change often-we love to try as many as we can! The stuffed french toast special was so sublime I exclaimed "Rain and hail in Beulah land!!" in honor of my beloved granny. The husband raved about his French Dip sandwich, the chicken fried chicken is a plate o' comfort food goodness, and the French Croast (using croissant bread) special I just had was delicious. Even the turkey wrap boasts spicy mayo, Swiss cheese, and avocado slices. His biscuits are large and fluffy, the cornbread (when you can catch it on special) is to die for with kernels of corn in the bread and all. Attention is given to everything that goes into these dishes-we notice and LOVE it!! This man wields cooking utensils like Bruce Lee handled nunchucks, leaving large plates of expertly prepared food in his wake. Open 7 days for breakfast and lunch, they close at 3 so hurry in. They'll even deliver if you're close by! A gem for you to discover-far and away my favorite breakfast and lunch spot in that neck o' the woods.

located in an industrial area. this place is average. interior is shabby and dirty. bathrooms were cleaner than the eating area except the base of the toilets need a good cleaning.. omelets, unseasoned, were overcooked to the point of brown areas. hash browns are the kind you rehydrate and then fry, definitely not fresh potatoes. toast is Knickerbocker brand, meaning right off the store shelf. ice tea is weak and needs something to make it drinkable. these great reviews must be family and friends. i would not return.

I eat here very often and its my favorite lunch spot. It is a little dinner with great specials, homemade soups, the salads are huge and the services is always friendly. When it comes to breakfast they have the best biscuits and gravy in town they are double the size of anywhere else's and they have andouille sausage breakfast with green peppers, onions, 2 eggs, hashbrowns and toast! For lunch try something off the special board you will never be disappointed. everything is always fresh and hot. They also have wraps, 1/2 pound burgers, jambalaya and a large sandwich selection. If you need a place for lunch you found it! They also do carry out.

Tried this place after a coworker suggested it. It's a small place but is a hidden gem in Macomb county. Staff is very friendly and know the menu which is a huge plus. Four of us went for lunch meals ordered was the following. I had Chicken lemon rice soup (good) BLT (good). Daughter had an ultimate burger and added grilled mushrooms ( very good) fries (good). Mother had a country omelette (very good). Father had boxcar(I think that is its name) burger (very good). Overall great service very good food at a decent price, I would definitely recommend this place to others to enjoy.

This place is hands down great. The first time I went here was about two years ago when I first got my braces with my dad. I dident order much due to the fact my teeth hurt so much. I believe I ordered just chicken strips which where very good. The second time I went I ordered the same thing. The chicken strips were very good along with fries. Although I liked the strips what really got me going is the beef vegetable soup. It has to be my favorite thing on the menu. Every time I go there I will order that soup. The last time j went there I also order bacon with a cheese and ham omelet which was very good also. I recommend this place!!
